Case Study 1: Prescription Dermatology Product.
Objective: The objective of the project was to identify the root cause of the less-than-optimal performance of this prescription product with respect to sales issues, doctor acceptance, insurance issues, pharmacy problems and patient compliance.
Design: The project design consisted of phone interviews with sales reps, physicians and pharmacists. The physician interviews focused on new, lost and non-prescribers to determine the drivers for the lack of prescriptions. A online patient survey was initiated to understand patient acceptance and compliance. Insurance coverage data was examined as well.
Results: The root causes for the problem were identified and resolved. The research identified problems within each step in the supply chain and resulted in a Physician decision tree which helped the client understand the decision making process. We were able to design a custom study that met the needs of the client in terms of cost, timing and ability to address the objectives of the research.
